Hey Readers, Writers, and Friends,
This week I straight up forgot to sit down and write my Flash Fiction Friday post because it was Good Friday. I am a practicing Christian (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in particular), and while I wish I could say that I was mindfully pondering the sacrifice of my Savior, but I was not.
My kids were out of school, my husband had the day off of work, and Godzilla vs King Kong released to theaters. So naturally I took my son to watch the kaiju fight to the death. I mean, come on. It’s Godzilla vs. Kong!! And my son is as big a Godzilla fan as there can get. He’s all lizards all the time, very typical of his age.
So it was mother-son bonding time. And a grand time it was. When asked what his favorite part was my son proclaimed the nachos to be the best bit. But then amended to a bit of the movie that showed his tender heart, so I forgave him the nacho love.
No spoilers. And I don’t really feel like giving it a proper review. Godzilla defies the reviewer. Most of it made no sense and it was just a big visual spectacle. Which is what we, like most fans, came for.
Anyway, I thought I would let ya’ll know that I did drop the ball, but not the thread. Flash Fiction Friday will be back next week. In the meantime, have a wonderful weekend, especially if you are celebrating Easter anywhere in the world.
All my best!
